Shimano Curado K MGL 71 Baitcasting Reel LH is the smallest Curado model available, and it is developed to handle a wide array of lures while excelling at comfortably casting smaller lures. The lightweight MGL spool features reduced spool inertia for improved casting distance and accuracy. Palming the Curado MGL is comfortable due to its compact and lightweight design. To ensure that the angler has enough leverage, even over the biggest fish, the reel features a strong and rigid HAGANE Body.

Features

  • Lightweight CI4+ body

Micromodule
The addition of MicroModule gear technology to the worm shaft idle gear reduces oscillation vibration. This is an incredible breakthrough in design and delivers an outstanding level smoothness without sacrificing strength or durability. The enhanced smoothness results in greater sensitivity transmitted from your rod, line and lure to your hand.

XShip
XShip is a combination of features that work together to create much greater efficiency. By positioning the pinion gear close to the centre line of the large diameter drive gear, more power is transferred from the handle to the rotor. The pinion gear is also supported by two Shimano ARB roller bearings. This creates more stability.

CI4+
CI4+ is an advanced version of the original CI4. This highly technical material is 2.5 times stiffer than CI4 and is used on many highend Shimano reels to increase weight savings. Use of CI4+ for the body and rotor also delivers remarkable stiffness for better reel efficiency.

MGL Spool
Magnumlite is a revolutionary cold forged lightweight aluminium used to construct our light weight spinning reel spools. This material is 30% lighter than Ci4+!

SVS Infinity
Shimano's newest innovation in brake system technology, SVS Infinity provides easytomanage, consistent spool control and brake force. With brake weights that use inner friction against the raceway during the cast, SVS Infinity controls spool speed for precision casting especially when using lighter lures. The external adjustment knob provides for quick, precise adjustments for either the conditions or when you switch baits.

Cross Carbon Drag
The cross carbon drag provides a wider range of drag setting, along with the smoothest Shimano drag performance ever.

S3D Body
Shimano's S3D technology leads to significantly reduced spool vibration. By designing a balanced and uninform thin wall aluminium constructed spool, S3D creates an incredibily smooth feeling when casting and retrieving lures.

S ARB
Shimano S ARB bearings are high corrosion resistant ARB ball bearings with an extra shield for improved protection against sand, salt or dust.

Super Free System
The Super Free bearing supported pinion gear system (SF) was designed to eliminate friction on the spool shaft during the cast. In standard baitcasting reels, when the clutch bar is pressed down, the pinion gear is freed and can actually drag on the spool shaft, creating friction and limiting the length of the cast. With SF, the pinion gear is supported by a ball bearing, and when the clutch is disengaged the pinion gear and spool shaft are kept in precise alignment. The result is zero friction on the spool shaft for increased freespool.
