PikePro Pop Up Traces are a semi barbed twin treble trace that has been designed for when sometimes when bait fishing for pike, you find yourself fishing over the top of weed, silt and other debris located on the bottom of the lake bed. These ideal pike hunting grounds can prove difficult to present a perfectly visible bait. Pike rely heavily on their eyesight to hunt so it's important to ensure your bait is as visible as it possibly can be and that it stands out from the natural vegetation located on the bottom.
The Pike Pro Pop Trace does exactly that! Incorporating an 18mm red sphere bait popper that is semi-fixed to the end of the trace via an additional piece of wire that is attached to a red plastic popper stopper that holds the bait popper in place securely during use and provides a snag free and streamline presentation. Not only does the bait popper provide buoyancy but it also provides a red visual attractor that will grab the attention of any passing predator.
By using a hooked shaped ‘Popper-Stopper’ the bait popper can be easily removed when not required, allowing you to fish the bait directly on the bottom. The popper stopper will also accommodate various other bait poppers allowing you to increase the buoyancy to accommodate larger pike baits. Alternatively, using a smaller bait popper in-conjunction with a larger bait will provide you with a slow sinking bait presentation, ideal if you want to present a bait on the top of a silty or weed bed bottom.
These pop up traces are mainly used for ledgering tactics and offer a versatile pre-made trace system that can be quickly adapted to suit your fishing scenario. Additionally, the bait popper can be trimmed to size to produce a popped-up or slow-sinking bait.
