PikePro Super Tinsel Pike Flies are hand tied in the UK to the exact design that we have found to not only be great pike and zander catchers, but which shed water quickly and are easier to cast. WMounted on premium-quality Ahrex hooks on our pike flies that are the superior choice for strength and sharp points, without adding undue weight.
Incorporating a 3D-head design that gives more bulk, without adding weight, and a super-flexible tinsel tail that pulses alluringly on the retrieve. If you are looking for great quality pike flies that are easy to fish and have a proven track-record of catching big fish then look no further.
We would recommend using a trace of at least 30lb test when fly fishing for pike. Use a short one metre leader of 60lb fluorocarbon between the trace and fly line to give better turn-over on the cast.
Depending upon your fly line density let the fly sink for anywhere between three and twenty seconds before beginning the retrieve. These flies work well with either a slow figure-of-eight retrieve or a faster stripping retrieve. Remember to leave plenty of pauses in the retrieve, especially when the fly is just out of sight at the end of the retrieve as this will cause the fly to swing enticing pike to strike!
